Welcome to 9th Grade Literature/Composition! :-) This is a 17 week course.
In this class, we are going to look at the thematic development of empathy, coming of age, and the loss of innocence throughout various genres and complex texts. We will discuss how these themes build your identity as you enter high school and begin to mature. You will enhance your reading comprehension by applying your knowledge of narrative development to analyze and critique texts. You will continue to expand your knowledge of writing mechanics by exploring literary analysis and writing an argumentative essay.
